Seattle tries to cool off as temperatures climb into mid 80s

Story by Joshua Trujillo June 12th, 2015

Now if you are from a place that actually gets hot you are probably laughing at this. But Seattle temperatures climbed into the mid-eighties, which for people here is hot. You see, we don't have air conditioning in many of our homes and being surrounded by water makes the humidity amplify the feel of the heat. The warmth draws scores of people to beaches, parks and fountains to cool off.

During our first heat wave of the year I wandered parts of our city to see how people were keeping cool. Aside from getting to just wander our fair city —and get paid for it— I met some really nice people. Some of them are featured in these images.
